Program Description:

French Language, Culture, and History

Paris, France

Develop your ability to communicate in written and spoken French and enjoy a comprehensive introduction to French history and culture, from the Romans to the present.  Numerous field trips are integrated into the courses, including a boat tour of Paris along the river Seine, and two all-day excursions outside Paris: to impressionist painter Claude Monet's house in Giverny, and to the Palace of Versailles.  Other destinations within Paris include the Conciergerie palace and prison, the Garnier Opera House, the Orsay Museum, and more.  You will also see a live performance of Eugène Ionesco's "La Cantatrice chauve", the play you will study in your language and conversation courses.  This program is open to students of French at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced-intermediate levels.
