Program Description:
Interculturality, International Migration and the Dialogue of Civilizations Before and After 9/11
Barcelona, Spain 
 
This course will analyze the effects of migration and globalization on intercultural relations and dialogues within multicultural urban spaces in Western Europe and the United States before and after September 11, 2001. You will visit immigrant communities from around the world in Barcelona and attend lectures and lively discussions with immigrants and specialists in the field. Apart from the beauty of its beaches as a city located on the Mediterranean Sea, Barcelona is a global city with a strategic location for the study of international migration processes. It is a cosmopolitan city with thousands of immigrants from the Global South.
