Aix-en-Provence, France – French Honors Program
You will receive individualized support from ASA’s advisors and staff throughout your program application process, while you are abroad, and when you return.

Before you depart we will work with you and the staff at your home institution to help you prepare for your time abroad by giving you personal access to our Student Success program, which will help you maximize your experience
in your host country. You will also receive a detailed pre-departure orientation guide which will help you know what to pack, what to expect when you arrive, and how to stay safe while abroad.

Once you arrive in Aix you will participate in our onsite orientation with the other ASA students in your group. ASA’s site director will introduce you to your host city and culture through orientation and multiple events during the program. Our intentionally small group sizes allow ASA’s students to get to know one another and are an aspect of our programs for which our alumni consistently express their appreciation. You will have opportunities to meet other students and lots of new people through your classes, social events and optional language partners.

ASA programs include excursions, volunteer opportunities, housing, meals, academic credits, transcripts, mobile phones, airport pick-up on arrival, medical insurance and more! Contact ASA or your advisor to learn about ASA’s Price Guarantee for all of our programs.
Explore the cobblestone streets and cafes in the city center and lavender and sunflower fields just outside the city. Study at the Aix Center of Humanities and Social Sciences in Southern France’s beautiful heart of culture, art, and academics. The Aix Center was established by the Institute for American Universities which is one of the oldest and largest education abroad programs in Europe.

This program is for students with advanced French language skills and offers the opportunity to live and study in a 100% French-speaking environment in one of the most popular college towns in all of France and Europe. You may take courses with international students as well as with local students. Honor students participate in daily journaling, attend special receptions, cultural excursions and activities and the option to participate in an internship.

Students will study French grammar and conversation as well as French culture. Electives are taught in French or English in a number of different subject areas including: Archaeology, Art, Art History, Business, Communications, Economics, Education, French Civilization & Literature, Film, History, Literature, Philosophy, Political Science, and Psychology. As an honor student you may opt to take one elective in English. A full list of classes for this program can be found on the ASA website through the link at the top of this page.
"ASA was very involved in the entire study abroad process. They give you more than the typical study abroad package. ASA is always available to answer questions and help you through the entire study abroad process." Ashley Grewe – University of Minnesota, Duluth
